COVID–19 PROJECT
Building preparedness for future pandemics
THE PROJECT OUTLINE
The project, COVID-19 Healthcare Responses in ASEAN and Australia, identified and compared COVID-19 hospital sector responses and learnings in each ASEAN country and Australia. A five-year plan and Collaborative Development Centre will sustain trade, collaboration, and knowledge exchange for pandemic response capability development across the region.
FUNDING
The project has been kindly funded by the Australia-ASEAN council. The council aims to develop opportunities that "deepen cultural understanding, cooperation and connections with ASEAN member countries". It focuses on "advocacy and outreach, support for business, education and cultural initiatives, grants and exchange programs".
PARTNERS
The project has been delivered by the Melbourne Institute of Technology in partnership with Monash University. The Melbourne Institute of Technology is a well-established Australian tertiary education and research institution. MIT staff are active researchers, engaged in industry projects, article and report publishing and PhD supervision, and partnering with universities within Australia and overseas. Monash University is ranked 75th in the world ranking. It has an excellent research environment and is well supported by the Monash Research Office, the Faculty of Business and Economics Research Office and the Monash Center for Health Research and Implementation.
